Oscalithion: The Ungulith Cronicles
The Braeneian Kingdom
The Braeneian Kingdom is a near fey only kingdom that is situated within the large and unforgiving Zaluks Woods, at least to those that don’t know it.
The population is widely disperesed from the most common of fey such as elves, Gnome’s and halflings as well as the occasional half-elf. Though these are by far the most numerous there are also the other fey such as spriggans and brownies, they also welcome nearly all the Elemental half-breed races beside the Ifrit as they find the fire dangerous to have in the forests. The Earth elemental Oreads, The air elemental Sylphs and The Water elemental Undines all have a welcomed home in the The Braeneian Kingdom and all are encouraged to put their talents to use to help the forest grow and prosper. There are three other races that call the The Braeneian Kingdom home but their numbers are very few and they together make up perhaps 4% of the total population they are the Vulpine Kitsune, The Arial Strix and the reincarnating Samsarans.
Their capital is a large city built into an unusual growth of six gargantuan trees that seem to rotate around a seventh Colossal tree in it’s middle, this marvelous city of marble and ironwood is called Thelaien and is by far the largest trees on the whole continent.
Life in the The Braeneian Kingdom is quite relaxed, despite the dangers of the forest but every one pulls his or her weight in the society, and their craftsmanship is now considered the contender for the best in the continent as they compete with The Phaisegon Empire’s craftsmen, who have been influenced by the influx of Athnadian Refugee’s from the past century, but despite this contest they have good trade and diplomatic relations with the Phaisegon empire as through this relationship both have flourished both as kingdoms and as cultures. On the other hand The Slanait Kingdom on their other side is a threat and only due to peace agreements, that sometimes teeter on the bring of collapse, have they not gone into full out open war. The other deterrent is the large ancient dragon named Tavorth that lives between the two kingdoms and only the The Braeneian Kingdom is on good terms with him as he was the teacher of the current King two century’s ago.
